Our Customers Comments

"Scotts a careful and strong climber, an efficient organizer with an eye to detail and good company on the trip. I'm sure these sentiments are shared by all other participants on the trips I've completed. He (and they) have my strongest and unqualified recommendation."  George

"Many thanks to you, Scott, Bill, and Daymond for a great trip to Aconcagua.  Even though we didn't summit (the weather was from hell and the snows unbelievably deep) we had a great adventure." Arch

"I thought Adventures Int'l was great - I've recommended them to several people. You don't get a higher compliment than return clients, so they definitely have my endorsement." Karen

"The Aconcagua summit climb via the Upper Vacas route was spectacular. Hitching a mule ride over the ice cold Vacas (also by bare feet on occasions), spotting Huanacos feeding on the steep rocky slopes, fighting heavy winds and blowing rocks while caching our high camp gear at White Rocks, and looking out over the Andes after slogging up the infamous canaleta for the last difficult 1000 feet are a few of the memories.  Todd Rutledge held our group of five (two guides, three clients) intact, both patient and encouraging in his efforts to make the trip successful and fun--thanks for the hot tea and snacks at the end of each climb.  Todd was our lead guide, chef, climbing/acclimatization expert, bilingual negotiator in town or on the mountain, equipment and gear specialist and lead motivator.  For an encore, our group met up with Scott Woolums' in Mendoza for a few days of drinking tall beers, eating big steaks and touring a winery.  This climb is not easy. You will come away with an appreciation for the Andes, mountaineering in general, and (some envy of) the guides who make it their living." Ted

"Just wanted to say thanks for the Africa trip.  It was great.  I had a fantastic time.  The trip was well planned and ran smoothly.  I cannot think of any way to improve it.  The schedule was great. The weather was great.  The safari sites were excellent.  The Kili climb was fun.  There were a few minor issues (2 flat tires and radiator problems) but they were all handled very well.  I will recommend AI to my friends. Special thanks to the three key people who made the trip perfect because of their knowledge, experience and constant concern for my trip satisfaction: US Guide: Clark Bryant Safari Guide: Will King Kili Guide: Gabrielle"   Russ

"A few comments about my experience:
1. I really liked the client to guide ratio and the fact that AI limits the group to six clients. I have been on other guided trips where there were upwards of twenty people in the group. With groups that large there is no opportunity to do your "own thing".
2. I liked the fact the guides allowed us the freedom split up and hike by ourselves if we wanted. I saw other groups on the mountain and they looked like a string of cattle walking up the mountain, one after another. I didn't feel like the guides were trying to "hold my hand" the entire trip.
3. I liked the attention to detail that AI paid to the trip, such as asking me if I needed a hotel in Mendoza, meeting me at the airport, and alerting me with schedule changes. "

"For what it is worth, here are my two cents:  Adventure International's knowledge of Aconcagua and experience in mountain guiding was evident in its use of the Vacas/Upper Vacas valley route.  Not only is this route removed from the throngs of other climbers on Aconcagua, but it also appeared ideal for proper acclimatization.  I was very happy with my selection of
Adventures International as my mountain guide on Aconcagua and am happy to recommend them to those seeking a mountain guide for Aconcagua." Mark

"Our party of four had a very enjoyable trip on Aconcagua.  The assistance we received from Adventures International was very helpful and essential.  It really helped to go right from the
airport to Penitentes on the same day.  It was also great to meet Scott at Grajales' shop at the end of our climb."  Brooks

"Both guides were very helpful and very motivated to have me reach my goal. I did reach my goal..... I believe the Upper Vacas route which is used by Adventures International is the best route and the one that offers the highest probability of success in reaching the top.  I have no qualms in recommending Adventures International for the Aconcagua trip and have done so with a few people."  Dan

"A month trekking trip to Nepal is no small under-taking.  I wanted to choose people who were organized and professional, yet mainly, fun to travel with.  The guides proved to be excellent leaders, who made the most of all situations.  I am fortunate to have the ability to travel around the world, and my trip to Nepal with Adventures International will stand as one of my most fond memories."  Richard

"Just wanted to take a few moments to let you and Scott know how much I enjoyed the trip to Kilimanjaro.  The trip was pretty much everything I'd hoped it would be and proceeded pretty much seamlessly.  Clark was fabulous in his role as guide/facilitator/detail chaser.  He was also a pleasure to work with and great company.  Likewise I felt that our driver Willking and our Tanzanian mountain guides did a great job.  I wouldn't want to go with anyone else.  Overall I can't think of anything that I would change about the program, arrangements, or people."  Anne

"The Denali Climbing season is here again!   I just wanted to thank you again for making last year's Denali trip for me one of the most memorable experiences of my life.  I still think about summit day!  Anyway, stay healthy, happy, and have a great summer season."   Wiley

"It was a wonderful trek and climb. A large amount of the credit for our collective and individual successes must go to our guides.  They were both obviously knowledgeable, very professional in attitude and demeanor, and always upbeat and quite humorous at times.   They encouraged everyone's participation at all times in all aspects of the trip.  Their encouragement and willingness to take the time to share their knowledge with me made it possible to achieve all that I did on this trip, which was considerable since I have never attempted anything so aggressive. In fact because our experience was so wonderful and we learned so much, we are seriously considering doing it again. Thank you Scott for finding and establishing such a wonderful route up the mountain.  It was a real eye-opener once we got to White Rocks and saw the amount of people climbing up the Normal Route.  Except for two lost climbers and a trekker we saw no one else.  It was mostly just our group and the Huanacos. I have described our trip to as many of my friends and co-workers as will listen and some have expressed interest in climbing with Adventures International.   And Scott, one of those co-workers, Greg Kinney sends his regards.  He made the summit with you in 1995. On behalf of John and for myself, thanks for a wonderful experience!"   Teal
