Mt. Hunter the West Ridge
The impressive west ridge of Mt. Hunter is one of Alaska’s most spectacular alpine climbs. This is a challenging snow and ice climb of the 4th highest peak in the Alaska Range. With a long difficult ridge and high angle ice pitches, it demands solid mountaineering skills and previous multi-day technical climbing experience. We use ski planes to land on the glacier at our base camp near the normal base camp used for McKinley expeditions. A dramatic setting away from the crowds of McKinley and one of the all-time alpine classics!
