The Ruth Glacier Alpine Climbing

Alpine climbing in the spectacular setting of the Ruth Amphitheater at the base of McKinley. This is a solid introduction to true Alaska climbing, expedition style. From Talkeetna we fly into the West Fork of the Ruth Glacier in ski equipped planes, landing right at our base camp. After a couple days of glacier travel training near base camp, we travel on skis to our choice of climbs: Moose’s Tooth, Peak 11,300, Mt. Barril, Mt. Dickey and Mt. Dan Beard are all possible objectives. We will focus on advancing technical skills, safety, route selection and assessment, decision-making and judgment to further everyone’s alpine climbing and expedition skills. The climbing will be dependent on snow conditions. We will choose the best routes available. The perfect environment for advancing your alpine skills, culminating in one of several challenging climbs. Private guiding is available here for anyone wanting to focus on specific objectives.
