Highlights of Tanzania Wildlife Safari
Visit Tanzania’s very best game parks and reserves

Arusha:  This is where our trip starts and ends, a great place for relaxing before and after the Safari. Our base for trips into the outback. A friendly town with lots of excellent local handicrafts.

Tarangiri National Park:  A paved road takes us to Tarangiri, home for one of the highest concentrations of elephants anywhere. A very surprising park in being closer to the main road yet offering some of the best wildlife viewing anywhere. We camp in one of the excellent tented camps, a spectacular experience listening to all the sounds of an African night!

Lake Manyara Park:  A spectacular collection of animals live and migrate along the shores of Lake Manyara. We’ll view lots of giraffe, hippos, lions, baboon and the Blue Monkey.

Serengeti National Park:  This is the farthest park out that we will visit. A long, dusty trip past several Masai Bomas (villages). A spectacular collection of everything. This is the classic wildlife viewing area and for good reason. It is a seasonal home for such a wide variety of animals. Constant sightings of lion, zebra, cheetah, wildebeest, and lots more. We stay in the very nice Seronera Wildlife Lodge built around a huge lion kopje.

Nogorongoro Crater and Conservation Area:  This is a very real world Jurassic Park! A huge natural crater forms a complete micro-ecosystem that is home for some of Tanzania's best collection of animals including the Black Rhino. This is quite possibly the best of all the parks. We spend the night along the crater rim in the beautiful Nogorongoro Wildlife lodge.

Back to Arusha:  Following our safari we return to Arusha. A welcome retreat after being on the dusty back roads for a week.
